LG V20 Feature a Modular Design First Seen and Set to Launch on September 6

Google has confirmed that LG V20 will be the first smartphone that ships with Android Nougat, right out of the box. Now days ahead of the launch, pictures of LG V20 have been leaked by tipster Evan Blass on his Twitter account. Blass had put out pictures of V20 earlier as well revealing front and back panel of the device.

LG V20 will feature a modular design first seen in company’s flagship G5 smartphone. The new picture reveals a second screen which acts like an always-on display for notifications and widgets. There’s also a new ‘In Apps’ icon on the screen, and the function of this particular fold is not yet clear. LG G V20 has rounded edges and a black band just below the display with LG branding on it. There’s a thin swappable module below the black band. LG V20 features a slimmer metal design. Reports suggest LG is dropping the dual front camera setup. LG V20 is said to feature volume rocker on the left while power button will be placed below the camera module.

Other rumoured specifications include 5.6 or 5.7-inch Quad HD display, Qualcomm 820 or 821 processor and 4GB RAM. The device will support USB Type C. LG V20 pictures leaked earlier showed a button on the right, similar to the module release button on the G5. The biggest difference from LG G5, however, seems to be the camera which shows a significant hump. There’s a dual camera setup like the G5. Check out the Evan Blass’s tweet here:

A report on Android Authority claims the handset will be 8.8mm thick at the camera, and the overall thickness will be 7.7mm. The smartphone is reportedly 159.5mm tall and 78.1mm wide.
