What calls for special attention is that Samsung has silently released a Pink Gold version of the Galaxy S6 Edge+. Following the Green Emerald and Blue Topaz variants of the Galaxy S6 lineup, the Pink Gold Galaxy S6 Edge+ is retailing in China now . As of today, there is no official confirmation available to ascertain the availability of this variant outside China. Nevertheless, GSM Arena says, there is a possibility that this version will make its way to other markets early next year.
When it comes to price, the Pink Gold model costs the same as the other standard variants of the S6 Edge+ in China. Back in the U.S., the regular 32 GB S6 Edge+ is priced at $679.99 in T-Mobile, after a discount of $100.
Not just the price, the configurations of the Pink Gold variant is also same as the other models. This means, the device features the same 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display and 2,560 x 1,440 pixels screen resolution. This display combination translates to a solid pixel density of 518 ppi. To top it off, Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 protects the screen.
Under the hood, it comes powered by an octa-core SoC and backed by a killer 4 GB of RAM. On the software end, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS runs the device. Undoubtably the handset is upgradable to the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
And the Galaxy S6 Edge+ comes with a fingerprint scanner for authentication and supports the new mobile payment system Samsung Pay.Speak of camera specification, it sports a 16-megapixel rear-facing sensor with support for LED flash and OIS, except for a gracious 5-megapixel secondary snapper for selfies.
This Samsung device comes housed with a Li-Ion 3,000 mAh non-removable battery cell and it supports wireless charging feature.Aside from the 32 GB or 64 GB of native storage space, the S6 Edge+ does not support microSD card for expansion.
