“When I was law minister, I dismissed four state governments using Article 356, which was upheld by the Supreme Court… AAP is not working according to the Constitution… The government should be dismissed under the same Article ,” said the BJP MP.
Joining the hunger strike by East Delhi MP Maheish Girri outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s house, Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy Monday said the Delhi government should be dismissed if Kejriwal refuses to apologise for alleging Girri was involved in NDMC official M M Khan’s murder.

Swamy said after former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan, Kejriwal and Lt Governor Najeeb Jung were “next on his list”. “Rajan is gone… I will now focus on Delhi… The LG doesn’t have time to protect our MP who is innocent…,” said Swamy, accusing Jung of seeking guidance from Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary, Ahmed Patel.
Hitting out at Kejriwal, Swamy said, “The CM has claimed he is a meritorious student of IIT. Jis tarah usne admission liya hai, uske documents hai mere paas… (I have documents on how he took admission).” Praising Girri, Swamy said he was the first one to sign his petition raising questions on the nationality of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi. “… Girri is a religious and knowledgeable man,” he added.
Responding to Kejriwal’s demand that police investigate Girri’s role in the murder, Swamy said, “He has not registered any complaint. Party workers are infuriated by the baseless allegations. He must apologise and we will let the issue go…,” he said.
However, many BJP leaders at the protest distanced themselves from Swamy’s attack on Jung. Girri said he was on dharna to demand answers from Kejriwal and had nothing to say about Swamy’s comments on Jung. Party MP Manoj Tiwari said he did not hear what Swamy said and could not comment on it.
CM demands Girri’s arrest
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal demanded the arrest of BJP MP Maheish Girri and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “shielding” him.
“The Lt Governor has forwarded a letter written by the hotelier accused in the NDMC official’s murder to the NDMC chairman. Has anyone ever heard of an open debate in matters of murder? Whoever commits murder will sit in front of my residence and senior BJP leaders will come to support them. Is this the criminal justice system?” said Kejriwal.
